Khalid ibn al-Walid: Seeking Blessings Through the Prophet’s ﷺ Hair

It is narrated in al-Bayhaqi’s “Dala’il Nubuwwa” and al-Hakim in the Mustadrak, and others with chains of narration:

That Khalid ibn al-Walid lost his skullcap (qalansuwah قلنسوة) on the day of Yarmouk. He said, “find it!” Then they did not find it, then they searched/asked and found it. Khalid said: The messenger of Allah ﷺ performed Umrah and then shaved his head. I rushed with the people to get some of his hair. I got some of the hair from the front part of his head which I put in this qalansuwah. Every time I went into battle with this qalansuwah, Allah gave me victory.
