Adab al-Waqt أدب الوقت

Adab al-Waqt أدب الوقت – Etiquette of the Moment

ومن لم يتأدب مع الوقت فوقته مقت

Whoever is deprived of the adab that the moment requires, then his moment is disgust/aversion (IE the aversion of God).

Sufyan al-Thawri

Whoever is deprived of the adab (etiquette) that the moment requires, the adab al-waqt, then his moment is nothing but disgust and detestation of God, the aversion of God.
The waqt وقت becomes maqt مقت.
Every moment, state, and station has its adab.
It’s never customary formalities or good manners that you learn in school. It’s always specific to the moment and based on truth and sincerity of principles.
Therefore ikhlas, sincerity, and truthfulness are the heart of adab. They are what make adab possible and, amazingly, are then cultivated by it so that they grow. They work with each other.
