Nawawi Hadith 34: Enjoining good and forbidding evil

Hadith 34: Enjoining good and forbidding evil

EnglishArabic
On the authority of Abu Sa`id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, “Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.”

[Muslim]

Notes

When acting upon this hadith one should use wisdom and insha’Allah reasonably expect an outcome where there is little to no harm and that goodness will result, and don’t hurt other people’s hearts but be healing for them, and may Allah ta’ala bless us in this amin.
