Halaqa was started by Greg Carr (Abdullah Ismael), an American Muslim convert, and other Muslim guest writers.
Greg Carr (Abdullah Ismael) converted to Islam in 2015 and is a follower of Sunni Islam according to the ahl al-sunnah wal-jama’at, a Hanafi in fiqh and mixes between the Ash’ari and Maturidi schools in theology (aqida) depending on the issue (mas’alah). All four schools of Sunni fiqh and three schools of Sunni aqida are to be respected and honored. The aim is to do this work for the sake of Allah ta’ala.

“I have faith in the American intellect, in the American intelligence, and in the American love of fair play, and will defy any intelligent man to understand Islam and not love it.”
Alexander Russell Webb in the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893
